Baseball & Softball Instruction At Randolph Grand Slam

Baseball Teaching by Randolph’s Peter Jones and Mine Hill’s Michael Hyrnio

Peter Jones is a former all-state high school player who later pitched for Furman University. Jones played professionally in the New York-Penn League and then served as head baseball coach at The Pingry School for 11 years, where his teams captured three state titles. More recently Jones has been teaching baseball and coaching Iron Horse Baseball in Morris County.

Michael Hyrnio is a former all-state baseball player at Dover High School, who then was drafted by the Seattle Mariners. Hyrnio played in the Seattle farm system for seven years, plus a year in the Cincinnati Reds organization. Along the way Hyrnio played every position on the f ield, including pitcher and catcher.

Jones and Hyrnio will be offering pitching, batting and fielding instruction. In addition, Hyrnio will teach catching.

Softball Lessons By Liz Sisca

Liz Sisca will be teaching fast pitch softball hitting, fielding and throwing lessons this winter and spring at Grand Slam. Sisca was a Newton High School softball standout who went on to play at William Paterson University. Sisca still holds William Paterson’s season record for batting average (.486), home runs (13) and not surprisingly, walks (42). In 2005 she was named first team All-America.
